PREPARATION
WASHING/EXFOLIATING
For the very best results:
The week of show, shower twice per day exfoliating gently and moisturise whilst still damp.
The day of your tanning appointment, shower using a moisturiser free liquid gel soap and wash your entire body.
Gently exfoliate from head to toe, with nylon exfoliating gloves or a nylon mesh cloth.
Pay special attention to your knees, elbows, hands, feet and heels.
The better condition your skin is in, the better the product will absorb, the more flawless your tan will look, and you will have a more even fade after your competition.
Please avoid any spray tans or use self-tanners at least 14 days prior to your appointment as this can lead to an uneven colour/result.
Please also be mindful of tan lines from sun exposure. Depending on the style of your competition bikini, trunks etc tan lines may still be visible so It’s best to minimise or avoid sunbaking altogether prior to your competition.
On the day of your spray tan, do not moisturize: light exfoliate only.
WAXING/SHAVING
It is suggested that you shave at least 8 hours before your spray tan; preferably the night before, and all waxing is completed at least 7-10 days prior to your spray-tan appointment.
If you are accustomed to waxing, then 3 days prior should be adequate.
Any sooner than these recommended times may leave the pores exposed, collecting the tan which can result in a ‘spotty’ look. (For males – shaving your face the day prior to tanning is fine). If you regularly wax or shave, continue to do so for those same areas on your body.
You cannot shave or shower once tan is applied, until after your competition.
NOTE: If you are someone who has NEVER waxed, please do not begin waxing in preparation for your competition tan. There is a high chance if you are new to waxing, that your skin may become very irritated and you may develop a waxing rash that can compromise the
appearance of your tan.
Please continue to shave instead.
LASER/IPL
IPL/Laser appointments should be scheduled approximately two weeks prior to or two weeks
after your competition tans
DEODORANT/ PERFUME/MOISTURISER
DO NOT put on any make-up, deodorant, perfume/cologne before or after your spray tan application. Ladies will be able to apply make up on show day. These products will react with the tanning solution and turn your armpits and any other areas of the body they contact green!
NAILS / MANICURES
Your fingernails and toenails may be discoloured from the overspray in your tanning session.
To minimise this from occurring, we highly recommend painting a clear nail varnish on your fingernails and toenails prior to your spray tan session.
A nail polish remover will easily remove the varnish after your comp.
Any manicures and pedicure appointments should be done prior to your tanning appointment.
On the same day is fine, as long as it is before tanning appointment.
Ladies - if you are painting your nails white (this includes french nails) sometimes the overspray from the tan can change the colour of your varnish (even after applying a protective barrier cream to your nails prior to your spray tan application).
HAIR
Please wash your hair a day BEFORE your tan appointment.
If you do need to wash your hair in between spray tan appointments you will need to do this separately – ie over a sink/basin or visit a hair salon where they will be able to wash for you.
WHAT TO WEAR TO YOUR SPRAY TAN APPOINTMENT
Come to us with clean, dry skin wearing dark, loose fitting clothing and flip-flops.
Do not wear any red colours. The red dye in cotton will tend to turn your skin green!
An over-sized shirt and over-sized pants made of stretchy fabrics are best because they glide over your skin and won't disrupt the development of the bronzer.
Avoid stiff fabrics! Pyjamas and lounging pants and tops that easily pull over your head are best.
Avoid zippers, snaps and buttons! Do not wear jeans!
Ladies, can be sprayed nude. If you have long hair, please remember to bring a tie back to keep hair off your shoulders and neck. We will provide a hair net for you to wear.
Men, may wear something smaller than their posing suit (C-string or sock), if being sprayed nude is uncomfortable. For the best results, it is easier for us to spray without posing trunks
The actual tanning session takes about 20 minutes for the application and another 10-20 minutes to complete the drying process. You will feel slightly sticky for about an hour until completely dry.
After your colour has been applied, please plan to sleep in your loose, oversized clothing until the morning. This will eliminate any inadvertent hand marks on your body during sleep.

TOP COAT – YOU DON’T NEED ONE!
There is no need to book a top coat
LSR is an AMAZING single visit application product and touch ups will be completed backstage on show day IF required.
HAIR AND MAKEUP TIMES
Hair and makeup times are communicated closer to show day, these will be sent to the contact details used at time of booking.

SHOW DAY
Wear, light, loose fitting clothing and thongs or slides
Silk/Satin Robe – ladies, once you have changed into your bikini, we recommend you wear a silk/satin robe to prevent your tan, oil/glaze from rubbing off.
SHOW DAY TOUCH UPS
Arrive to see us backstage at least 2 hours prior to your first division so we can assess your tan and complete any touch ups with ample time for you to dry if necessary.
GLOSS/OIL
Please come and see us 20 minutes before your division for Oil/Gloss.
It is your responsibility to come and see us for all oil/gloss/touch ups as required.
The running times for your division can change right up until comp day.
It is your responsibility to check with your federation and backstage staff on the day for the most up to date information for your division times.
HEALTH CONDITIONS
Please advise us of any health conditions, allergies or injuries which can affect the development or outcome of your spray tan application.
LATE POLICY
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time, late arrival may result in moving your appointment to ANY appropriate time as decided by us.
